I. Status of disinfection application of vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) solution

The use of vaporized hydrogen peroxide is mainly dependent on its oxidizing properties, and different concentrations of vaporized hydrogen peroxide have different uses. Generally, medical vaporized hydrogen peroxide (commonly known as hydrogen peroxide) is used at a concentration of 3%, and is mainly used for disinfection of wounds or otitis media. When it meets the wounds, pus or dirt of the skin, mouth and mucous membranes, it immediately decomposes to form oxygen. This oxygen atom, which has not been combined into oxygen molecules, has a strong oxidizing power and can destroy bacteria when it comes into contact with bacteria. Bacteria, kill bacteria. Second, the status quo of vaporization hydrogen peroxide space sterilization technology

In the 1980s, researchers in the United States first discovered that the ability of gaseous vaporized hydrogen peroxide to kill bacteria was more than 200 times greater than that of liquid vaporized hydrogen peroxide. That is, vaporized hydrogen peroxide can achieve the sporicidal ability of high-concentration liquid vaporized hydrogen peroxide in a gas phase state, and thus two different sterilization and sterilization technologies utilizing vaporized hydrogen peroxide gas are present. (1) Vaporization hydrogen peroxide sterilization technology

(2) Vaporized hydrogen peroxide "dry fog" disinfection and sterilization technology

Since the vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization equipment developed by the flash technology requires high concentration of vaporized hydrogen peroxide, it is highly corrosive and the equipment is expensive, and its use range is limited to small corrosion-resistant and confinable spaces such as transfer chambers and isolation. Disinfection and sterilization of sterilizers, freezers, biological safety cabinets, medical equipment, biological incubators and airlocks are not suitable for disinfection and sterilization of large spaces such as GMP clean workshops and hospital operating rooms.

With the development of atomization technology, it has been possible to atomize the disinfectant into small particles of less than 10 μm, the so-called dry mist technology. Since the small particles perform irregular motion in the air (the Brownian motion principle) and do not settle, they do not aggregate together to produce large droplets, which rebound after contact with the surface of the object without breaking. The surface is moist. Therefore, these properties of dry fog make it very diffuse, leaving no dead ends when disinfecting; not wetting the surface; not corroding equipment, color steel plates and walls. Studies have shown that the smaller the atomized particles, the longer the suspension time in the air, the more chance there is to have sufficient contact with the bacteria in the air to achieve the purpose of sterilization.
